LUX* Maldives, May 14, 2012. LUX* Maldives invites all the guests to a new type of exploration of the underwater world of South Ari Atoll, by hosting the first ‘Underwater Festival’ in the Maldives from May 14th to 20th 2012.
‘We are thrilled to welcome some of the top experts of the sea and excited to bring personalities of this caliber to the Maldives’ says the General Manager and passionate free-diver Dominik Ruhl. The Festival starts on Monday 14th with a highlight on the 2-day course held by Jean-Jacques Mayol, founder of Team Mayol and son of legendary ‘Dolphin Man’ Jacques Mayol. The course, open to all the resort guests, introduces a session of “Yoga- Breathing and Mental- Relaxation” created by Team Mayol and a boat trip to open water. For those who not only want to understand and learn the philosophy and techniques of free-diving, à la Mayol, but also looking for an adventure of a life time, to learn free-diving at its best in peace and harmony and dive among the most amazing sites in the world.
Award-winning underwater photographer Pascal Kobeh from France and celebrity nature/underwater photographer Junji Takasago from Japan join the Festival to provide unique photography coaching sessions to all our divers. In conjunction with Eurodivers, the guests are able to learn how to get the most out of their underwater snapshots and attend the photography contest that will rewards the best images with an array of Underwater Cameras sponsored by Olympus camera.
