    The Island Spa

The Island Spa – the only spa in the Maldives located on its own private isle – is just a minute’s sail from the Resort, accessed via a dhoni (native Maldivian boat).

The spa is a Moorish-inspired oasis, with seven over-water treatment pavilions and lush foliage arranged around a central tented reception. It uses products sourced from some of the industry’s most environmentally-supportive suppliers – including ila, Sodashi and A.W Lake – as well as organic ingredients, cultivated and harvested ethically and in complete harmony with nature. An innovative treatment menu focuses on the restorative power of marine-based nutrients.

The signature and award-winning ‘Enchanted Reef: A Journey to Serenity’ treatment is an extended two -day experience that combines Tibetan singing bowls, Flame Meditation and deep breathing techniques alongside wraps, scrubs and massages; it is one of many highlights of The Island Spa’s wholly natural menu. Other treats include the Lava Shell massage and Crystal Essence facial. The Kuda Spa menu for children age six to 16 features 12 island-inspired treatments offering a progressive approach to the junior spa treatments.

Each pavilion is designed for couples’ spa experiences with separate bathing and treatment rooms and private garden courtyard with open-air shower. A rectangular sea-viewing window is located below each of the two massage tables.

    Tropicsurf Surf School

The Maldives is renowned for its excellent dive sites, white sand beaches and idyllic resort islands. But with its warm, pristine waters, consistent year-round swells and deep, flat reefs, the archipelago is also one of the planet’s most consistent surfing playgrounds – and Kuda Huraa is the perfect place to discover it.

The Resort’s on-site Surf School is run by the pros from Tropicsurf, Noosa, Australia and offers courses for beginners aged six years and above. Six quality breaks within a 20 minute speedboat ride place experienced surfers right in the heart of the action, with many more secret, uncrowded spots just a whisper away.

Typical waves range from chest-high to once-overhead though rise to up to double-overhead in size between June and September, the peak season for swell.  March/April and October/November swells are normally small/medium and clean while December through to March offers small but un-crowded surf.
