The Canareef based Sub-Oceanic Dive Club is a PADI authorized dive center. We are a multilingual team of dedicated dive professionals under Maldivian ownership and Dutch/German management. It is our aim to give our guests an unforgettable and safe underwater experience at one of our spectacular dive sites.
Addu has been spared the coral bleaching of 1998 and we can gaze in awe at stunning and some of the healthiest corals in the Maldives. Thanks to our location our manta season lasts the whole year, the channels are squirming with grey reef sharks and big pelagic sightings are not uncommon. The atoll is also the last resting place of the British freight ship British Loyalty which was torpedoed twice during the second world.
Since most dive sites are on the outside reefs visibility tends to be well over 20 meters. The inside atoll is home to large pods of dolphins that make boat rides a joy for young and old alike. That is not it. Did we mention the annual whale migration every November?
Currents tend to be easier manageable than in other parts of the Maldives which makes Addu a perfect location for both novice and experienced divers.
For certified divers we organize two-tank trips in the mornings to one of our 27 diving spots all over the atoll.
In the afternoons we go out for a single dive for those who like it nice-n-easy and fans of macro without missing out on the sharks and turtles.
For non- and not yet divers we offer PADI beginner courses and Discover Scuba Diving lessons. Those who would like to continue their diving education can certainly do so with one of the PADI advanced courses.
If you prefer to stay above the waves visit our team at the watersports center who offer every water related sports activity imaginable. The services range from private snorkeling tours, dolphin excursions, catamaran sailing, wind surfing, kite boarding, canoeing, any many more fun activities.
