FESPO is increasingly becoming a key indicator for the tourism sector; it is an excellent platform and offers its visitors information for holidays and travel. FESPO 2018 attracted over 63,000 visitors including trade, media and consumers. In FESPO 2018 different companies from around the world promoted their products and services to Switzerland market. Travel Agents, Tour Operator, Airlines and National Tourism Promotion Boards were among the many exhibitors.
According to the latest visitor survey of Maldives, majority of the tourists from Switzerland visit Maldives for snorkeling and rest & relaxation. Switzerland is one of traditional and major markets to the destination, it is also among the top ten markets to the Maldives. In 2018, 32,984 tourists from Switzerland visited Maldives. Destination representation in FESPO is expected to improve the market.
