Maldives wins the “Best Remote Beach Destination” Award at the 29th Annual CondéNast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards Middle East held at Park Hyatt Dubai on the evening of 14th November 2016.
Condé Nast Traveller is a luxury travel magazine aimed at the upmarket, independent traveller having its editions targeting different regions of the world. Started in 1997Condé Nast Traveller runs several industry-recognised awards, the most important being theCondé Nast TravellerReaders’ Choice Awards, which take place every year. Apart from the Reader’s Choice in the Middle East there is also UK, USA and Asia regions Readers’ Choice awards.
More than 300,000 travellers took part in this year’s Reader’s Choice Awards Survey, breaking records by submitting millions of ratings and over 75,000 comments that led to the short listing of the winning favourites. It is indeed a great honour for Maldives to be selected amongst such a wide audience voting for a wide variety of top rated experiences.
Maldives alongside Seychelles and Zanzibar were the nominees for the Best Remote Beach Destination category. Mr. Musab Abdulla, Counsellor for the Embassy of Maldives in Abu Dhabi received the award on behalf of Maldives.
Apart from the winning the Best Remote Beach Destination Award, Dusit Thani Maldives earned the award for the Favourite Hotel or Resort for Families.

At the 2015 Conde Nast Travellers Reader Choice Awards, Middle East edition, Maldives won the award for the Favourite Beach Destination. By securing this year’s award Maldives has proven that the Destination is one of the most popular beach destination in the Middle East.
