Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC) has launched an online campaign with TripAdvisor to promote Maldives in UK, Saudi Arabia, Russia, India, Italy and China for six months.
As part of this major campaign, Maldives will have full visibility on the TripAdvisor website to the target market which helps to maximize the destination presence and promote the Maldives. Further, through the campaign we are able to inspire, influence, remain top of the consumer’s mind and drive conversion to deliver true incremental revenue.
TripAdvisor is one of the largest “social travel website” in the world, with over 315 million reviewers of hotels, restaurants, attractions and other travel-related businesses. TripAdvisor was an early adopter of user-generated content. The website services are free to users, who provide most of the content, and the website is supported by a hotel booking facility and an advertising business model.
MMPRC has carried out 17 joint campaigns throughout this year as part of the marketing efforts to promote the destination. Besides the traditional marketing activities such as Trade fairs, roadshows and Familiarization trips which were held this year, MMPRC has expanded the marketing activities to online & digital platforms in order to gain further presence of the destination.
Destination arrivals has increased this year remarkably reaching 1.5 Millionth arrival target in November 2019. Tourist arrival which was recorded till October 2019 is 1,393,618 which is 14.5% increase compared to 2018.
