Coming soon: New, enticing resorts in the Maldives

The Chedi Kudavillingili is the first resort in the country from GHM Hotels & Resorts and is scheduled to open later this month with a convenient location which is reached by a 30-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport in Male’, Maldives. With 99 sleek villas including 36 overwater villas, this is a brilliant opportunity to pitch a sale for guests who want to make their stays more permanent. A main focus of the resort is dining options, focusing on international cuisine. A holistic spa is part of the facilities for guests who wish to have a more serene holiday as opposed to guests who desire a bit more adventure and color in their life through snorkeling and diving activities. For the surfers, there is a cool world-famous surf break just a short few minutes away from the resort.
The Chedi Kudavillingili
The Ritz Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, is set to open next spring in Fari Island development in the North Male’ atoll. A 50-minute speedboat ride or a 10-minute seaplane ride from Velana International Airport in Male’, Maldives, will take you directly to the resort. The villas range from one to three bedrooms and have a dedicated butler or aris meehaa set for every villa. There are six restaurants including a Michelin starred chef and two bars, a Jean-Michel Cousteau Sustainability Program and a Ritz Kids program and of course, a spa with nine stella treatment facilities. In addition, the Ritz Carlton is in search of passionate environmental ambassadors, Naturalists, to join the distinguished team of Ladies & Gentlemen. Not only do they intend on taking guests on an inspiring journey but also creating meaningful experiences that leave long-lasting global footprints. The Ritz Carlton Maldives
Capella Maldives is also set to open in the Fari Island development next year. There are 57 villas and mansions, all with private pools created by established architect Kengo Kuma. Apart from the hotel’s trademark Auriga Spa, the resort will also feature a wonderful selection of restaurants, from a Japanese Omakase bar to an American steakhouse.

The third resort to open in the Fari Island development is the first of Capella’s new division Patina, Patina Maldives, which is rumored to be catering to “progressive travelers of a new generation.” Designed by Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan, this resort will have 20 studios and 90 beach and overwater villas with one to three bedrooms. It is set to become the central hub of activities in these islands with its location near the Fari Marina with its Beach Club, selection of restaurants and boutiques.
Patina Maldives
Siyam World is set to open in December on Dhigurah in Noonu Atoll, a 45-minute seaplane ride from Velana International Airport in Male’, Maldives. There are 12 types of accommodation to choose from, some with water slides right into the lagoon. 11 dining outlets will cater to the gastronomers as guests get to choose from Indian fine dining, sushi, vegan and more options. Of course, a myriad of activities is available both above and beyond the water, along with a floating water park which families and kids can truly enjoy!

Kagi Maldives, Avani Fares Maldives Resor and Cocogiri Island Resort are also set to open in 2021 along with many others. Keep a lookout for new and upcoming resorts in the Maldives and make your bookings as early as possible to secure a spot!
Maldives is now open for travelers from all nationalities provided that an online health declaration form is filled out within 24 hours prior to departure to the country. A negative COVID-19 PCR test result is also needed with the test taken within maximum 96 hours from departure to the country.
