‘I AM Maldives’ Roadshow Successfully Launched in, Central Eastern Europe
Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has collaborated with the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NGHAM) to organise “I AM Maldives” Roadshow 2025 in Central and Eastern Europe, a focused initiative designed to expand the Maldives’ presence in three key emerging markets – Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic.
In partnership with NHGAM, the roadshow serves as a dedicated platform to strengthen business relationships, enhance destination visibility, and promote the Maldives as a preferred holiday choice for travellers across the region. The event will take place in Warsaw (17 November), Bucharest (19 November), and Prague (21 November), uniting travel industry professionals, agencies, tour operators, and media representatives under one banner.
Featuring 26 exhibitors, including resorts, hotels, guesthouses, liveaboards, and travel agencies, the “I AM Maldives” Roadshow showcases the destination’s world-class hospitality, luxury experiences, community-led tourism initiatives, and diverse tourism products. Through curated presentations, one-to-one business meetings, and networking opportunities, the event provides a valuable platform for Maldivian stakeholders to connect directly with key partners in the Central and Eastern European market.
"The response from the Polish travel community has been exceptional," said Abdulla Nasheed, President of NHGAM. "We're seeing genuine enthusiasm for the authentic Maldivian experience, from our community-led tourism initiatives on local islands to our world-class resort offerings. This roadshow allows us to showcase the diversity of what the Maldives has to offer while building the personal connections that drive real business growth."
“The ‘I AM Maldives’ Roadshow represents our strategic focus on emerging European markets that continue to show strong growth potential,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation. “By strengthening partnerships and increasing awareness among regional travel trade partners, we aim to inspire more travellers from Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic to experience the Maldives’ unique blend of natural beauty, culture, and luxury.”
The initiative supports VMC’s wider goal of achieving the national tourism target of 2.3 million arrivals for 2025. As of 30 September 2025, a total of 86,860 visitors had arrived from Central Eastern Europe, exceeding the 86,574 recorded by the same period in 2024 – a positive indicator of continued growth from the region.
In addition to strengthening market reach, the roadshow aims to provide destination training, share the latest travel updates, and gather insights on traveller preferences to inform future marketing efforts.
