Travelife is an industry-led  programme that values social responsibility as much as environmental management, promoting  sustainable practices among tour operators and accommodation providers. Receiving this award  required consistent efforts toward corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals, including 

maintaining rich biodiversity, monitoring the marine ecosystem, implementing energy and water saving practises, and collaborating with the local community for education and employment  initiatives. A vital element of our approach aligns with Travelife’s focus on employee welfare,  ensuring fair wages, ethical working conditions, and opportunities for professional development,  alongside upholding health and safety standards. Additionally, inclusive practices such as equal  employment opportunities and involving the team in sustainability efforts are foundational to  cultivating a positive workplace culture where every team member feels a sense of ownership in  CSR goals at Kuramathi. 

At the heart of these sustainability efforts is the Eco Centre at Kuramathi, managed by a dedicated  team that includes a Sustainability Manager, Horticulturist, and Eco Centre Coordinator. Together  with the resort’s environment committee—comprising members from various operational areas,  this team drives initiatives that foster environmental, social, and economic sustainability. By 

minimising environmental impacts, enhancing community benefits, and upholding human rights  and fair labour practises, Kuramathi exemplifies responsible tourism, blending growth and  conservation harmoniously.
