Successful implementation of the World Travel & Tourism Council, Safe Travels by Secret Paradise

Local Tour Company Secret Paradise announced today the successful implementation of the World Travel & Tourism Council, Safe Travels protocols for Adventure Tourism.
The specially designed #safetravels stamp allows travellers and other Travel & Tourism stakeholders to recognise companies around the world that have implemented health and hygiene protocols that are aligned with WTTC’s Global Safe Travels Protocols.
Over 30 protocols for the adventure tourism industry were compiled on the basis of insights and frameworks developed in conjunction with members of  the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) to support the safe, healthy, and responsible restart of adventure tourism around the world.
The objective is to ensure that protocols are in place across all relevant functions with an increased focus on health, safety, and physical distancing standards which travellers will need and expect,as well as requiring adventure tourism operators to follow local and national legislation and the latest guidance from public health organisations including WHO.
The protocols are divided across four pillars:
  1. Promoting Operational & Staff Preparedness to ensure they can optimise operational quality and delivery and have trained staff to prepare and execute the operational plans.
  2. Delivering a Safe Experience for staff and guests through enhanced cleanliness and hygiene best practices.
  3. Rebuilding Trust & Confidence through transparency and communication with guests.
  4. Implementing Enabling Policies
“Whilst  travel plans were on pause the team at Secret Paradise worked hard with support from Neil Shorthouse, Shorthouse Hospitality International, to ensure that guests would be able to travel safely with us upon their return to the Maldives.''  said Ruth Franklin, Co-Founder and Director at Secret Paradise. ''The safety and comfort of our guests and our team has always been important to us, this is why our guides are certified Emergency First Responders and Level 3 International Life Guards.''
The Secret Paradise #letusguideyou Safely Policy highlights the enhanced procedures and processes that guests can expect, from the moment they are met by their guide to the time when they are waved goodbye. The policy will evolve as time goes on and as public health recommendations change, but what won’t change is Secret Paradise's commitment to keeping guests safe as they explore the Maldives.
