The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands marks Chef Aminath’s return with ‘A Taste of Homecoming’

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, located in North Malé Atoll, announced on 5 March 2026 the return of Chef Aminath, a Maldivian pastry chef and founder of Maldivian Patisserie. With international training and experience in pastry and chocolate production, she has received several industry recognitions, including Best Maldivian Pastry Chef 2022, gold medals at the Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives Awards, and participation in the Asian Pastry Cup in Singapore. Her previous roles include positions at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, Waldorf Astoria Maldives, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, and Dolce Italia Bakery in Sri Lanka.
Chef Aminath’s return to the resort is marked by a collaboration titled “A Taste of Homecoming”, which focuses on pastry-making and local culinary influences. The collection includes a range of items such as dragées in various flavours, almond Florentine, cranberry macadamia cookies, coconut latte cookies and palmiers. The products draw on both local ingredients and international techniques, and are available in a dedicated retail space at La Locanda restaurant.
In addition to this collection, Chef Aminath and Maldivian Patisserie are responsible for producing turndown chocolates and in-villa cookies at the resort. These items are incorporated into the guest experience as part of the resort’s hospitality offering.
This initiative represents the resort’s second collaboration with a Maldivian female creative, following an earlier partnership with artist Shimha Shakeeb, whose work is displayed across the property. The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands continues to engage with local artists and entrepreneurs through similar collaborations.
