The St. Regis Maldives Announces the 2026 Tastemaker Series
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort announces the return of its distinguished Tastemaker Series in 2026, reaffirming its commitment to hosting influential global talents at one of the Maldives’ most captivating private island destinations. The series continues to position the resort as a cultural crossroads where creativity, craftsmanship, and excellence converge—offering guests rare, immersive opportunities to engage with leading figures across culinary arts, fine wine, mixology, wellness, and sport.
The season opens in January with celebrated chef Gianluca Renzi, whose residency features refined wine-led dining experiences, an intimate hands-on gnocchi masterclass, and a signature dinner set against sweeping ocean views. His presence sets an elegant tone for the year ahead, seamlessly blending classical Italian heritage with contemporary technique and a spirit of conviviality that mirrors the resort’s sophisticated yet relaxed ambience.
In February, the spotlight turns to innovation behind both the bar and the cellar. Felice Capasso, World Class Global Bartender of the Year 2025, brings his expressive approach to mixology to The Whale Bar through a dynamic bar takeover and an engaging masterclass that explores the narrative depth of spirits, flavour, and creativity. Shortly thereafter, Burgundy’s celebrated winemaking legacy arrives in the Maldives with Romaric Chavy of Domaine Chavy-Chouet, who will personally host a guided wine tasting and paired dinner, offering guests an authentic introduction to the nuance, elegance, and terroir-driven character of one of the world’s most revered wine regions.
Complementing the culinary and beverage programme, the Tastemaker Series also embraces holistic wellness and rejuvenation with the return of Akiko Igarashi as Visiting Practitioner from February 9 to 23. Drawing on decades of expertise in Reiki, sound healing, and holistic therapies, she offers deeply restorative experiences including Tibetan Singing Bowl healing journeys, Reiki treatments, and bespoke couples’ sessions—each designed to encourage inner stillness, emotional balance, and transformative wellbeing.
In March, the focus shifts to elite sport as former World No. 1 and multiple Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber joins the lineup. Through exclusive private coaching sessions, a dedicated children’s clinic, on-court interactions, and a relaxed meet-and-greet, Kerber brings world-class athletic insight to the resort while maintaining an approachable and inspiring presence for players of all levels.
The season continues in April with Michelin-starred British chef Glynn Purnell, whose confident, modern British culinary identity is showcased through a signature dinner, an intimate cooking class, and a finale experience at The Whale Bar. Known for combining technical precision with warmth and personality, Purnell’s appearance provides a fitting culmination to a season defined by talent, storytelling, and meaningful connection.
In May, the Tastemaker Series welcomes one of tennis’s most respected figures, Feliciano López. Celebrated for his longevity, elegant serve-and-volley style, and sustained success across more than two decades on the ATP Tour, López is a former World No. 12 and holds the Open Era record for the most consecutive Grand Slam main-draw appearances. A Grand Slam doubles champion and key contributor to Spain’s Davis Cup victories, he brings invaluable professional insight to the resort through curated guest sessions focused on advanced technique, movement, match awareness, and the nuances of elite-level tennis—delivered within a relaxed island setting.
Reflecting on the return of the series, Vincent Pauchon, General Manager of The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, commented:
“The Tastemaker Series is more than a programme; it is a celebration of passion, artistry, and human connection. Each year, we curate experiences that feel personal and enriching, giving our guests the opportunity to engage not only with exceptional talent, but with new perspectives, ideas, and inspirations. This year’s lineup beautifully embodies the essence of The St. Regis Maldives—elevated, thoughtful, and deeply memorable.”
With its 2026 edition, the Tastemaker Series continues to evolve as a defining hallmark of The St. Regis Maldives experience, inviting guests into a world where excellence is shared, discovery is encouraged, and every encounter is designed to resonate long after the moment has passed.
