Visit Maldives and Singapore Airlines Collaborate to Host Familiarisation Trip for Japanese Travel Trade Representatives

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives) in collaboration with Singapore Airlines, is currently hosting an exclusive familiarisation trip for key Japanese travel trade representatives. Running from 31st May to 5th June 2025, the trip aims to significantly enhance destination awareness and promote the Maldives as a premier family and wellness travel destination within the Japanese market.
The participants are gaining first-hand experience of the Maldives' unparalleled offerings at Centara Ras Fushi Maldives and Pullman Maldives Maamutaa, with a special focus on diverse wellness and family-oriented experiences. This familiarisation trip is a strategic initiative to strengthen long-term partnerships with the Japanese travel trade and showcase tailored travel packages that will drive increased visitor bookings from Japan.
As of 22nd April 2025, the Maldives has welcomed 12,157 arrivals from Japan. This familiarisation trip is part of MMPRC's ongoing efforts to boost these numbers, building upon successful PR activities and the recent JOTC Quarterly Webinar. Looking ahead, Visit Maldives has a robust pipeline of activities to further solidify its presence in the Japanese market, including joint campaigns with tour operators and travel agents, media and influencer familiarisation trips, and a dedicated Maldives Roadshow in the Far East.
