Visit Maldives takes part in the world’s most prestigious luxury travel trade show – ILTM Cannes

Visit Maldives is proudly participating in ILTM Cannes 2025, the world’s most prestigious and influential luxury travel trade show, held from 1–4 December 2025 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. As the pinnacle event in global luxury travel, ILTM Cannes serves as an unmatched platform for destinations to engage with the world’s top luxury buyers, elite travel designers, and high-end tour operators.
This year’s participation stands as one of Visit Maldives Corporation’s biggest milestones, reinforcing the Maldives’ position as the leading ultra-luxury destination and showcasing the country’s sharpened strategy to attract the world’s most affluent travellers. Visit Maldives has placed strong emphasis on revenue-driven luxury tourism as a core priority for 2026, shifting focus from surface arrivals to high-value, high-yield markets.
At ILTM Cannes, the Maldives stand highlights the country’s signature elements of barefoot luxury, including private islands, overwater villas, wellness sanctuaries, world-class dining, and unparalleled hospitality. Delegates from top Maldivian properties such as Lily Hotels, The Nautilus Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi, The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection, and Amilla Maldives are representing the destination with VMC this year and many others on their own.
In 2025, Visit Maldives launched a highly successful Superyacht Campaign, positioning the Maldives as one of the world’s most desirable destinations for exclusive yacht itineraries, charters, and private-island cruising. Several joint campaigns with leading high-end tour operators have further strengthened the country’s reputation among elite travel networks, ensuring increased visibility among affluent travellers seeking privacy and exceptional experiences.
Maldives’ prominence in global luxury media continues to grow through strong collaborations with prestigious publications and award bodies, including Condé Nast Traveler, Wanderlust, Vogue, and the Michelin Key rating system. Many Maldivian resorts have been featured and recognised across these platforms, offering valuable global exposure and reinforcing the Maldives’ reputation for excellence.
Looking ahead, Visit Maldives is also developing a dedicated private jet operator strategy for 2026, engaging with premium jet companies, FBOs, and concierge travel networks to attract millionaires and multi-millionaires. This initiative aligns with Visit Maldives’ broader push to expand the high-net-worth tourism segment and generate greater revenue for the destination.
“The Maldives continues to set the bar for luxury travel,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation. “ILTM Cannes is the ultimate stage for global luxury tourism, and our participation reflects our commitment to strengthening our presence among the world’s most discerning travellers. Our strategy is clear: prioritise revenue and high-value travellers and elevate the Maldives’ position at the very top of the luxury market.”
As 2025 comes to an end, the Maldives continues to enjoy global recognition, with Visit Maldives’ luxury-focused initiatives expected to accelerate high-value arrivals and revenue growth in 2026.
