Austrian Airlines resumes flights to Maldives

Austrian Airlines have resumed flights to Maldives. They will be operating two flights every week, on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Currently, more than a dozen airlines have resumed flight operations to Maldives since the reopening of Maldivan borders to tourists of all nationalities. Some of them include Air India, British Airways, Edelweiss, Emirates, GoAir and Lufthansa, with more on the way.
Despite a notable reduction in tourist arrivals compared to the pre-COVID figures, the increase in flight resumptions and connections will aid in increasing the number of tourists arriving by the end of the year.
Tourist resorts and liveaboards resumed operations in July whereas guest houses were reopened in October. Tourists entering Maldives are required to fill an online health declaration form within 24 hours prior to departure and present a negative COVID-19 pcr test conducted within 96 hours prior to departure to Maldives.
