The much-anticipated Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort
Cup 2024 has officially kicked off, with South Kaafu's thrilling opening match
taking place at the stunning Crossroads Maldives. This year’s tournament
promises to be a celebration of skill, sportsmanship, and community, bringing
together the best resort teams from across the region.
The Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort Cup, now in its 3rd
year, has become a cornerstone of the Maldivian sports calendar. Sponsored by
Dhiraagu, the leading telecommunications provider in the Maldives, the
tournament showcases the immense talent and competitive spirit of resort staff,
providing a unique platform for camaraderie and healthy competition.

The opening ceremony was a spectacular event,
featuring a special charity match played between Ministry of Sports, Fitness
and Recreation led by Minister Abdulla Rafiu VS a team of stars led by Former
National Team player, Vice President FAM and legendary forward, Ali Umar. Attendees
were treated to an inspiring keynote speech by Mohamed Nashmee Rasheed, Managing
Director of Tekkers, followed by Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, Director Brand and
Marketing Communications Dhiraagu, emphasizing the importance of sports in
fostering teamwork, discipline, and a sense of community.
This year’s tournament will feature several
exciting matches, culminating in the grand finale at Crossroads Maldives. Fans
