Kuda Villingili Resort Maldives selected for the MICHELIN Guide 2026

Kuda Villingili Resort Maldives has been selected for inclusion in the 2026 Selection of the MICHELIN Guide, marking a significant milestone for the independently owned Maldivian resort and recognising the quality of the experience it offers its guests.
The MICHELIN Guide’s hotel selection brings together distinctive stays around the world, evaluated against five universal criteria spanning a hotel’s connection to its destination,  excellence in architecture and design, quality and consistency of service, authenticity and  character, and value for the experience offered.
For Kuda Villingili, the recognition reflects an approach to island hospitality shaped around something increasingly valuable: the freedom to experience the Maldives at your own pace.
Set in North Malé Atoll, just 30 minutes by luxury speedboat from Velana International Airport,  the resort is home to 75 spacious villas, including 36 overwater villas, all with private pools.  Designed for couples, families and groups of friends alike, the island creates space for privacy  and togetherness in equal measure.
Across the resort, guests can discover eight distinctive dining experiences in the Maldives, an  expansive overwater spa, a 150-metre swimming pool, extensive sports and wellness facilities,  and experiences that move effortlessly between the energy of the ocean and the quiet of island life.
Its location beside Chickens Break, one of the Maldives’ renowned surf breaks, adds another character to the experience, while the resort’s third consecutive Green Globe certification  reflects an ongoing commitment to preserving the environment and communities that give the  destination its identity.
“Being selected for the MICHELIN Guide is a meaningful recognition for Kuda Villingili and, above  all, for our team. Every day, our ambassadors bring warmth, care and individuality to the guest  experience. This recognition reflects the passion behind what we have created together and  encourages us to continue evolving while remaining true to who we are,” said Amjad Thaufeeg,  Commercial Director of Kuda Villingili Resort Maldives.
At its heart, Kuda Villingili is about creating the freedom for every guest to find their own version  of the Maldives, whether through adventure, wellness, gastronomy, family time or simply the  luxury of doing very little at all.
The MICHELIN Guide 2026 selection marks another chapter in that journey: Time and Space Redefined.
