Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives) is participating in the International Media Marketplace (IMM) 2025, held in Berlin, Germany on the 3rd of March 2025. MMPRC is showcasing the unparalleled offerings of the Maldives to top tier journalists and media representatives at this key event for German-speaking markets.
IMM is the leading global networking event connecting the travel industry with editors, journalists, broadcasters and influencers. This event, organised by Travemedia, offers exhibitors a chance to connect with and build partnerships with travel trade professionals from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In addition to planned meetings, multiple networking opportunities are presented for exhibitors and media representatives.
Throughout the one day event, MMPRC is connecting with leading media publications from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to provide the latest information of the Maldives, while also building strong connections with the media to strengthen our PR. Importantly, MMPRC is promoting the diversified experiences and offerings of the destination.
The German market is one of the most lucrative markets for the Maldives. As of 23rd February 2025, Germany is the 5th top source market to Maldives with an arrival figure of 23,294 with a market share of 6%. MMPRC has been holding several activities to promote the destination in this market. We have recently launched an outdoor advertising taxi campaign and successfully showcased the Maldives at the prestigious Berlinale Film Festival. We're also excited to announce the imminent launch of a conversion-focused campaign with TUI, one of the world’s leading tour operators. Further planned activities for this year include participation in world’s largest tourism event - ITB Berlin 2025; Visit Maldives Week in Munich, Frankfurt and Zurich; targeted marketing campaigns; media familiarisation trips; webinar sessions; joint campaigns with tour operators; and advertising in high-end print media.
MMPRC’s participation in IMM aligns with our strategy to maintain destination presence and promote diverse tourism segments to travel trade professionals in this market, aiming to increase bookings and year-on-year arrivals from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
