Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives), alongside 25 industry partners, are showcasing the diverse experiences of the Maldives at our first major travel trade event of the year, Fitur 2025. This event is being held in Madrid, Spain from 22nd to 26th January 2025.
Fitur is the benchmark event in the tourism sector and holds significant importance for tourism industry professionals and inbound and outbound international markets in Latin America. Participation in the event assists in strengthening the Maldives brand presence in Spain and Europe and establishing strong connections with the travel agents from leading markets in the region. It also provides numerous opportunities to showcase the unique experiences of the Maldives such as romantic getaways, wellness retreats, family vacations, adventure holidays, and summer and winter escapes. As one of the leading travel and trade events in Spain, Fitur 2025 offers a significant platform to share the latest information and for individual properties of the Maldives tourism industry to showcase new products and experiences.
The Maldives' stand at Fitur 2025 reflects the aspects of sustainability, luxury, romance, adventure, and cultural tourism. During the event, attendees can engage with the Maldivian travel trade partners, gaining the latest information about the Maldives. Additionally, interactive activities take centre stage at the stand including local food tasting, photo backdrop featuring libaas and feyli props, and creation of personalised calligraphy bookmarks. The overall stand portrays the diverse experiences of the Maldives through visuals and videos showcased on LED screens. Moreover, raffle draws are conducted at the Maldives' stand during Fitur 2025 to give away complimentary holidays to the Maldives, sponsored by Ithaa Holidays Maldives.
Spain was one of the top 10 markets in terms of arrival to the Maldives in 2024, with a total of 47,835 tourists arrivals from the market. MMPRC is continuing efforts to promote the Maldives in this market, with numerous planned activities, maintaining momentum from the preceding year.
