Qatar Airways to resume flights to the Maldives in April

Qatar Airways has confirmed the resumption of its flight operations between Doha and the Maldives, following a temporary suspension caused by regional tensions in the Middle East that disrupted several key air corridors.
Under its latest revised schedule, the airline will recommence services between Doha and Malé from 8 April 2026, operating up to five flights per week. The current schedule is valid until 15 April 2026, with a subsequent schedule to be issued thereafter. All schedules remain subject to change depending on operational conditions.
The reinstated service will reconnect Hamad International Airport in Doha with Velana International Airport in Malé, restoring a key international air link for the Maldives. This route plays an important role in supporting inbound tourism and facilitating outbound travel for travelers.
The revised schedule forms part of a broader network update, which includes additional frequencies to more than 90 destinations across Qatar Airways’ global network. This enhances connectivity for travellers from key feeder markets relevant to the Maldives, including the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.
During the disruption period, transit options through Doha were limited, particularly for long-haul passengers. The resumption of services is expected to ease capacity constraints and provide more efficient and predictable travel options as operations gradually stabilise.
Qatar Airways also confirmed that passengers holding tickets for travel up to 15 June 2026 can benefit from a flexible rebooking policy, offering added reassurance amid ongoing uncertainty.
Passengers are advised to travel only if they hold a valid confirmed ticket, as some flights may be subject to operational adjustments. The airline continues to monitor the situation closely and is working to restore full operations, including the organisation of additional flights where possible.
Further updates, including schedules beyond 15 April 2026, are expected to be announced in due course.
