Visit Maldives Hosts Renowned Emirati Influencer Khalid Al Ameri to Showcase Ramadan in the Maldives and Boost Travel from the Middle East

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives) is thrilled to announce a unique collaboration with renowned Emirati content creator and digital storyteller, Khalid Al Ameri, for an exclusive familiarisation (FAM) trip from March 22nd to 26th, 2025. Khalid is renowned for crafting culturally relevant content that connects with a diverse global audience.  His engaging storytelling will highlight the Maldives as an ideal getaway for last-minute bookings, targeting travellers from the Middle East and the GCC region.
Khalid Al Ameri, a Stanford University graduate with a global following of 21 million across social media platforms, is celebrated for his ability to bridge cultural divides and amplify Islamic traditions and community values. His work resonates deeply within the Middle Eastern market, making him the ideal partner to highlight the Maldives' unique offerings. A recognized figure in the Gulf Business "100 Most Powerful Arabs" list, he has consistently united people worldwide through his inspiring and humorous content. As the first social media personality to receive a Dubai Star on the Downtown Dubai Walk of Fame, he continues to shape conversations in the digital space.
The primary objectives of this trip are to promote the Maldives as a premier travel destination through Khalid’s influential social media platforms and to spotlight the authentic local culture of the islands. This initiative aligns with the Maldives' strategic focus on the Middle Eastern market, which currently holds a 3.9% market share, with over 79,000 tourists visiting in 2024.  This campaign is part of Visit Maldives’ ongoing strategy to collaborate with leading influencers and brand ambassadors across key markets. Khalid’s vast reach and
deep connection with audiences in the Middle East will help position the destination as a top choice for last minute travel, emphasizing its world-class hospitality, breathtaking scenery, and cultural richness.
During his stay, Khalid will create a series of engaging content pieces, including daily coverage on Facebook and Instagram; video and photo posts; and community posts on different platforms. The posts will feature Khalid’s personal experiences of Ramadan in the Maldives, highlighting cultural traditions such as iftar by the beach and luxury stays tailored for Middle Eastern travellers. These deliverables are expected to reach a minimum of 3.2 million viewers, showcasing the Maldives’ stunning landscapes, luxurious hospitality, and vibrant local traditions, with a special focus on halal travel and cultural experiences.
This initiative is part of a broader series of influencer-led campaigns by Visit Maldives, reinforcing the destination’s appeal across different global markets. With Khalid’s influence and storytelling prowess, the Maldives is set to captivate travellers looking for a serene and luxurious getaway this Eid.
