Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) will host the Tourism Symposium 2025 – The Futureshapers’ Workshop on 1 October 2025 in Malé City. The symposium is designed to bring together key industry stakeholders, policymakers, and media representatives to engage in strategic discussions aimed at shaping the future of Maldives tourism.
With the support and collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the Tourism Symposium 2025 provides a platform for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and innovation across key tourism segments. The day-long B2B event will feature presentations, panel discussions, and facilitated workshops to explore emerging travel trends, traveller profiles, and insights from pre-symposium surveys, setting the stage for the Maldives’ growth strategy in 2026.
During the symposium, VMC will present its Tentative Destination Marketing Plan for 2026, highlighting initiatives under the “Ocean Nation” strategy to drive sustainable growth. Industry leaders will discuss niche tourism segments including luxury tourism, super yacht and boating tourism, and guesthouse and atoll tourism, followed by working group sessions to identify opportunities for innovation and market expansion.
Market updates from core source countries, including India, China, Russia, Germany, the UK, Italy, the Middle East, USA, and France, will also be shared during the working lunch.
The symposium will conclude with a session summarizing key insights and outlining next steps. Post-event, VMC will compile notes and survey data into a report to guide the 2026 marketing blueprint and support actionable outcomes from the discussions.
Participation in the Tourism Symposium 2025 underscores the Maldives’ commitment to fostering collaboration, innovation, and sustainability within its tourism industry while providing stakeholders with a platform to help shape the future of one of the world’s most renowned island destinations.
